Personal Assistants (Support Workers) have the most important role within Enable by making a positive difference every day to the lives of the people we support. Each person we support has different support needs, so your role as Support Worker may include assisting them with various aspects of personal care, moving and handling or positive behavioural support whilst expanding their social networks and connections.

Let us introduce you to Callum:

Callum loves being taken outdoors, going for long walks (especially on those rare sunny days in Scotland) and just being as generally active as possible. A typical day could be going to the supermarket to ensure Callum has all the essentials he needs. Then Callum loves to go a drive somewhere scenic and then have a wander around the local community, picking up a cup of tea on the way. In his downtime, Callum enjoys watching varied TV, listening to Irish music and having a chat with his staff. Callum receives support 5 days a week usually between the hours of 9am and 7pm. Sadly, it's not always possible for Callum to enjoy what many people would consider these ‘simple pleasures' without proper, dedicated support.
