Job Title: Dementia Day Club Support Worker

Job Summary:We are seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join our dementia day club team.

As a Day Care Support Worker, you will assist with daily activities, promote independence, and ensure the safety well-being of our service users.

Work effectively as part of a team supporting colleagues, volunteers and visitors ensuring care delivered is safe and effective.

Co-ordinate and engage service uses in person- centred activities that reflects their choice, needs and maintain their mental and physical well-being.

Main duties & responsibilities:

Ensure all risk assessments are completed and reviewed in a timely manner.

Ensure the premises, environment and equipment are safe and effective for service users, staff and visitors.

Promote service users independence taking into account their abilities , dignity and choice.

Ensure activities are tailored to encourage participation, mental stimulation and social interactions.

Work effectively as part of a team, providing support to colleagues, clients, carers and families.Participate in team meetings and share ideas of service improvement.

Report all incidents and near misses in a timely manner.

Report and document any changes and concerns regarding service users to the manager in a timely manner.

Maintain a safe working environment following Health & Safety procedures and guidelines.

Assist clients with personal care needs respecting their privacy and a dignity.

Assist in preparation of refreshments, snacks and light meals for service users.

Maintaining a clean and hygienic work environment.

Responsible for providing safe and appropriate care including first aid when required, decide on the appropriate course of action with the support of manager if available.

Adhere to working practices and procedures and undertake all relevant training pertinent to the role.

Responsible for keeping up to date with mandatory training, new service development, practices and procedures relevant to the role.

Responsible for reading clients care plans and are aware of all care needs, special requirements and associated risk factors. Ensure care provided in line with the client's care plan.

Responsible to maintaining confidentiality and adhere to data protection principles.

Experience:Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required.

Skills:Strong drive to make a positive impact on the lives of othersExcellent communication skills to interact with clients, families, and colleaguesAbility to follow and implement Care plans effectively.

Driving licence and own vehicle preferred
