Host Organisation - About us

The Dove Café was set up by St Thomas' Church as a community outreach opportunity on behalf of and with the support of the Beaconsfield Team. Without the strong vision, drive and hard work from the members of St Thomas' Church the Café would not have been born. The Café opened in February supported by the local community.

The Dove Café is a Limited company with a board of directors with a smaller committee team. The project is not for profit and aims to break even at the end of each financial year.

The Dove Café is a community outreach project who also aim to make environmentally aware choices. We aim to have as little food waste as possible by planning our menu carefully and coming up with creative ways to use what we have, such as making bread pudding and croutons with the ends of the loaf of bread. We also take donations of produce that is no longer able to be sold and turn it into amazing salads, soups and bakes, one week this could be two box's of bananas then the next could 5 crates of broccoli.

We have a huge garden with a lot of possibilities and space to grow vegetables or a “wild garden”. The Dove Café is a community hub and so the possibilities when it comes to setting up new groups are endless.
