Job Description :

The Purchasing Associate supports and works to improve Topps’ overall cost and pricing activities. This position is expected to support all areas of purchasing including, cost estimating/forecasting, analyzing vendor quotation, managing raw material inventory and PO and invoicing process.

Reporting line: Direct to Pre-Production Leader with a strong dotted line to Finance

Responsibilities:

• Manage commodity spend categories with direction provided by Purchasing/Mgr.
• Manage PO placement and invoice processing
• Maintain final manufacturing cost for all projects
• Provide RFQ process support and analysis to the Pre-production and Production leadership teams.
• Lead cost estimation analysis to Brand Managers based on historical cost and cost matrix established with vendors
• Track spend by supplier and categories
• Raw material inventory management to minimise wastage/maximise usage
• Track vendor performance
• Maintain purchasing record, supplier contact database, etc.
• Strong link to the finance function to ensure accurate recording of all cost-based information in the accounting records and forecasting process
• Identify opportunities to improve cost efficiencies by working with suppliers, comparing SKUs across suppliers and recommending reconfigurations of product/packaging

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor or associate degree in Economics, Business Administration, Finance, Engineering or other relevant degree required.
• 4+ years of experience in planning, purchasing or financial analysis
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook required.
• Previous professional experience with printing industry or consumer goods industry preferred
• Experience with an ERP system preferred.
• Strong analytical capabilities
• Attention to data integrity, data quality and high productivity.
• Excellent communication, decision-making and organizational skills.
• Proactive thinking and problem solving.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Fluency in English and Italian preferable
