Quality Assurance Consultant

Opportunity for a Quality Assurance Consultant to join our thriving Fire Risk Management team. This is a chance for you to join our successful, fun, highly engaged Fire Safety team in an influential role.

You will play a key part in supporting our Fire Risk Management business nationally, working collaboratively within the Fire Division to optimise our quality management and project delivery activities.

The role would suite those wishing to move away from operational assessing into an assurance role, where you will be predominantly home-based with infrequent visits to your nominated office, unless it is your preference to attend more frequently. Occasional travel may be required when attending departmental meetings/conferences and continual Personnel development training, during which overnight accommodation may be required.

As our Quality Assurance team develops, we are also keen to seek those with experience within the built environment relating to fire safety matters, this may include construction stage inspections of compartmentation, passive fire protection or external wall remediation.

What you will need to succeed in this role:

Fire Safety Delivery

A passion for fire risk management, with a focus on end-user experience and safety.

Strong experience in delivering fire risk management consultancy services to a range of clients in a variety of project sectors in the UK market.

Professionally qualified in fire risk assessment.

An understanding of the guidance documents and awareness of a variety of compensatory measures which can be used across multiple occupancies to successfully implement performance-based design.

Commitment to ongoing professional development, maintaining current and agile aware of the latest industry developments and an ability to undertake independent learning.

Membership of a recognised 3rd Party Accreditation with the Institution of Fire Engineers Register of Fire Risk Assessors or a similar industry related scheme.

Full Member of the Institute of Fire Engineers or provide evidence that you are working towards.

Project Management

Efficient time management and organisational skills. Ability to plan individual workload to meet the timeframes for service delivery.

Management

Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Meticulous attention to detail when reviewing fire risk assessments and safety reports.

Ability to provide effective and timely feedback and resolve technical issues.

Ability to mentor and develop less experienced consultants, working to interpret, shape and meet client's needs ensuring high quality delivery outcomes and consistently achieve client satisfaction

Act as a role model within the team with responsibility for welfare of the team and actively championing Hydrock values and staff wellbeing.

Desirable

BS 9997 Lead Auditor qualification

Experience using App-based technology.
