Job Responsibility:

We are seeking a skilled Draughtsperson to join our team. This role will involve detailing steel structures and cladding systems, working closely with architects, engineers, and onsite installers to ensure the accurate design and implementation of structural components. The ideal candidate will have experience in steel and cladding detailing and will be responsible for preparing comprehensive drawings, ensuring material accuracy, and managing material orders for each package of works.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create detailed and accurate 3D models for steelwork and cladding systems.
• Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and onsite installers to ensure designs meet project specifications and requirements.
• Prepare and issue detailed construction drawings, fabrication drawings, and assembly instructions.
• Review and interpret project specifications, drawings, and other documentation.
• Coordinate with project managers to ensure work is completed within project timelines.
• Manage and place orders for all materials required for each package of works.
• Ensure that all orders are accurate, and materials are delivered on time to avoid project delays.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, codes of practice, and client specifications.
• Assist in the resolution of any design or construction issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
• Maintain clear communication with team members and stakeholders throughout the project.

Requirements:

• Strong knowledge of steel and cladding fabrication, construction, and installation processes.
• Understanding of structural drawings and ability to create accurate detailing and design solutions.
• Experience working with architects, engineers, and onsite installers to achieve project goals.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Knowledge of material ordering processes and supply chain management.

Desirable Skills:

• Proven experience using Tekla Structures software for steel and cladding detailing.
• Experience in steelwork and cladding detailing in large-scale construction projects.
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, including BS 5950, EN 1090, and relevant health and safety standards.
• Knowledge of other CAD and BIM tools, such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software.
