The purpose of your role

Police Now is seeking a Programme Events Officer (maternity cover) for the Frontline Leadership Programme (FLP). The programme supports diverse officers to progress through the ranks and become outstanding leaders in policing. In this role you will play a critical role in delivering an exceptional programme experience for the participants so they can thrive as part of a national cohort.

The Programme Events Officer will manage the planning and delivery of all events for the Frontline Leadership Programme, engage supporters of the programme and manage and maintain key relationships with all stakeholders and work with the wider FLP team to maintain a high participant experience across the year long programme.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead on the planning and execution of virtual and in-person training days, ensuring that the logistical operations are in place to enable the programme to be delivered to the highest standard.
  • Lead on the planning and execution of effective communications to participants during the programme.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to effectively plan and build training session days and timetables for large and complex events.
  • Incorporate Police Now’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion principles into event planning and logistics.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders, including guest speakers, programme volunteers and third-party suppliers.
  • Manage participant data in line with our Customer Relationship Management expectations.
  • Create a positive working environment for you, your colleagues and participants during the programme, facing all challenges with a positive attitude.

Key requirements

Essential:

  • Strong experience of delivering virtual and in-person events.
  • Project management experience, including setting up and maintaining project plans, as well as tracking budgets.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships both internally and externally.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Outstanding attention to detail that leads to high quality outputs.
  • Collaborative, can-do attitude, actively looking for solutions in the face of adversity and troubleshooting swiftly and effectively.
  • A genuine, demonstrable commitment to diversity and inclusion in the workplace and in policing.
  • An interest in, and understanding of, the policing sector and the values and mission of Police Now.
  • Willingness to travel within England and Wales, work occasional evening events and with occasional overnight stays (currently we run 1 full day event in Birmingham each month).
  • Vetting clearance or willingness to be vetted.

Desirable:

  • Experience with CRM systems to support effective communications and reporting.
  • Knowledge of online learning platforms and content management systems.
  • Experience of creating and implementing policies and processes to multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience using mailing platforms to send comms to large audiences
