Overview: General Ledger Accountant - 4/6 month contract role (full time) Location: Sheffield (4 days pw in city centre office) About the role: Aptean is a fast growing yet well-established global software company. We are expanding our Sheffield-based UK Finance team to support Aptean's continued growth in the UK and Europe. This role would suit a part-qualified accountant with a proactive and driven attitude looking to continue their professional development in a fast-paced environment with a global outlook. Duties will involve all aspects of financial and management accounts;
  • Ensure that all financial transactions are correctly processed and appropriately reflected in the GLs;
  • Ensure monthly balance sheet reconciliations are performed and variances are investigated and reported in a timely manner;
  • Adherence to month end procedures and timescales in order to meet Group reporting commitments;
  • Work collaboratively with the overseas Shared Service Centre, liaising with them regarding the delivery of their Accounting and AP responsibilities;
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial reporting requirements;
  • Support with Group and local Statutory audits;
  • Provide accurate and sound management reporting to assist with key decision making;
  • Support with Group acquisition integration work on an ad hoc basis;
  • Ad hoc projects as required by management.
About you:
  • Qualified to degree level or equivalent
  • ACA qualified preferably, although different levels of experience will be considered
  • Previous management accounts experience, including posting of journals and responsibility for balance sheet reconciliations
  • Good working knowledge of MS Excel
  • Able to organize and prioritise own workload in order to meet deadlines
  • Adaptable individual with a flexible and positive mindset
  • Strong teamwork ethic
  • European language skills would be advantageous
