Your role

We are looking for an experienced Initiative Manager to lead and deliver concurrent tech projects within the Wealth Management Tech team. You will be responsible to:
  • deliver tech projects E2E - on time, in the expected quality and within budget, as per agreed terms
  • design project plan and schedule (phases, milestones, critical path, resources)
  • coordinate with Pods (onshore, nearshore & offshore) to secure resources for the project
  • organize and lead the “project team” to execute the plan per agreed schedule and prioritise as needed
  • track project progress against baselined plan & ensure change management principles are adhered to
  • organize and facilitate meetings with stakeholders at all levels
  • co-operate & coordinate with the Programme Lead, Pods, Scrum master's to ensure alignment
  • build and manage relationships with all project stakeholders, both within IT and business
  • provide regular status reporting to all stakeholders
  • establish and adhere to the risk management framework
  • provide & validate cost and effort estimations
  • ensure an efficient project governance (documentation, roles & responsibilities) and adherence to SDLC principles & standards

Your team

You will be working in the WM UK CREW as part of UK Wealth Management IT based in London Our aim is to manage and deliver innovative IT applications, system changes and maintenance releases to the UK WM Business We believe in Agile working, and as part of your role, you will collaborate with scrum teams and be responsible for successfully delivering the projects within this area

Your expertise

You have:
  • ideally 8+ years of experience in successfully managing and delivering complex technology projects in the financial industry
  • proven ability to deliver concurrent projects
  • extensive knowledge & application of project management standards and processes
  • pragmatic approach to ways of working across multiple methodologies (Agile, Hybrid)
  • extensive knowledge and experience in the use of SDLC methodologies and tools to lead application development, application upgrades, and migrations
  • strong verbal and written communication & stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • ability to challenge and influence decisions at all levels
  • excellent decision-making skills to assess complex challenges and present recommendations
  • ability to identify and resolve risks and issues in a timely manner and articulate impacts to stakeholders
  • ability to work in a team environment with a highly collaborative work style
  • ability to build relationships, work closely and communicate effectively with development team members, projects managers and support colleagues globally
  • ability to remove barriers and enable teams to complete their objectives
  • excellent time management, facilitation, and organizational skills
  • ability to manage competing priorities & projects
  • an understanding of what it takes to run successful IT projects and teams in and agile environment
  • ideally a Bachelor degree in a related subject, plus Project Management Certification like PMP, PRINCE 2, etc.)
