Job Responsibility:

We are currently looking for a Full Time Linen Room Porter / Housekeeping Room Attendant (dual role) to join our Housekeeping Team at the Union Jack Club.

As a Linen Porter, you will be expected to medium to heavy manual handling tasks, to include the following duties to the highest standards:

  • To maintain linen stock levels and quality control
  • Processing and receiving daily linen deliveries, this involves pushing & pulling heavy linen cages, lifting the linen bundles, collecting dirty linen
  • Washing, drying and ironing daily uniforms, table linen, bedroom linen and beddings
  • To ensure all dry cleaning items are being logged and returned from the Dry Cleaner

As a Room Attendant, you will be responsible for maintaining all areas to the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation. You will perform a number of housekeeping tasks including, cleaning guest bedrooms and bathrooms which involves, but is not limited to, making the beds and bunk beds, dusting the room and furniture, washing cups and glasses, replenishing guest room and bathroom supplies, vacuuming carpets; cleaning public areas, meeting rooms and back of house areas and completing any other reasonable tasks as requested by the housekeeping supervisors and managers.

You will be contracted to work 37.5 hours per week over 5 days.

The ideal candidate will have the following Skills and Knowledge

  • Previous experience in a Hotel, preferably in Housekeeping department
  • Experience in a similar role
  • Team worker
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to display customer and colleague care
  • Organization skills and ability to work on own initiative
  • Good level of spoken English

The Union Jack Club is located in London Waterloo, with the building consisting of 300 bedrooms spread over 24 floors. The Club offers luxurious and peaceful accommodation and facilities to serving and former serving members of the Armed ForcesYou will work 'as and when required' to suit business demands therefore is on a casual zero hours basis with no set or guaranteed hours.
