Data Protection Analyst

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Privacy Team as a Data Protection Analyst. Part of the legal function who deliver Centrica's strategy and protect Centrica's interests by enabling effective, risk-based decision making. We do this by providing expert professional advice and commercially minded insight that helps the company navigate our legal, regulatory and compliance environments.

Salary: This role has a set salary of £35,032

About the Role:

The successful candidate will provide excellent quality and timely advice and support to the business, customers and the Data Protection Manager. Your day-to-day duties will include:

  • Reviewing Privacy Impact Assessments and providing advice and being a point of contact

  • Handling the complaints received from the Information Commissioner's Office

  • Support the Data Protection Manager with ensuring the Article 30 is up-to-date

  • Supporting with the Privacy Champion network

  • Supporting with the Privacy intranet site

  • Handling Privacy Notice updates

  • Manage data subject rights requests, promptly and within statutory time frames

  • Manage legal data disclosure requests in line with legal requirements and Centrica policy

  • Support the business in dealing with customer and employee complaints relating to data privacy

  • Support the business and the Data Privacy Office in managing data privacy breaches.

  • Provide good quality and timely advice to the business on data privacy matters

  • Support the Data Protection Manager in Data Privacy and Operation with the implementation of the Global Privacy Programme, and data privacy projects

About You:

  • The jobholder will need to demonstrate initiative, be self-motivating with strong organisation skills, prioritise a varied workload and will need to be able to review data in a creative and engaging manner.

  • You will have the ability to build strong relationships with the business and have a flexible commercially focused approach with the ability to identify and resolve risks.

  • To be successful you will enjoy working in a structured, logical and organised way. You will be expected to reassess processes and pitch these to the Data Protection Manager.

  • Ideally you will have experience in successfully interpreting analysis, communicating results and trends at all levels across the functions in a non-technical manner.

  • A good knowledge of In-House data privacy, preferably with specialist data privacy qualifications would be desirable but not essential.
