These roles provide a fantastic opportunity for you to build key foundations and shape the narrative, that will provide AXA the exposure and scope required for growth.

As a Fleet Commercial Underwriter, part of our National Trading Centre (NTC), you'll help drive and transform how we partner our broker portfolios, through responsive, flexible, and collaborative relationships. With a strong balance of technical and trading capability, you'll be empowered to make decisions, supported by data, insight, and decision support tools on mobile technology to succeed. You'll be focused on developing and delivering profitable growth, across new and existing business within the key markets.

  • Underwrite new and existing Mid-Market business profitably, accurately, consistently and in line with established underwriting practices, using the full range of tools available.
  • Build trading relationships with brokers, through visits and large case liaison, to maximise financial results and to generate pipeline new business opportunities.
  • Contribute to meetings with brokers and end customers to portray AXA capabilities and secure new business opportunities.

About you

What we're looking for:

  • Strong trading capability, commercial awareness, negotiation skills, ability to build strong broker relationships, within a Commercial Fleet environment.
  • Pragmatic decision making with good analytical and numerical reasoning skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with proven experience of account monitoring and action planning.
  • Proven experience in decision making on a wide range of underwriting scenarios within a Commercial environment.
  • Sound understanding of insurance market and processes across commercial lines insurance operations.
  • Knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements for insurance, including treating customers fairly.

This position has been defined as an Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) role under the IDD regime which means that in addition to pre-employment screening checks, the successful candidate will be subject to background screening every 4 years with an annual declaration in interim years.
