The role

We are seeking a dedicated and organised Senior Account Manager to manage a diverse portfolio of rent arrears cases. You'll need expertise and experience within the housing sector, plus knowledge of rent recovery and tenancy law. You'll navigate complex situations and play a crucial role in the team, ensuring that customers can stay in their homes and helping our neighbourhoods remain vibrant and welcoming places to live.

Working within an established Income Recovery team, you'll act as an SME, providing guidance to the rest of the team and handling tougher cases that may need escalation.

What will you do?

• Manage a portfolio of rent arrears cases, providing advice and support for customers facing financial difficulties.
• Represent Selwood Housing in court, collaborating with solicitors, advocates, and other agencies.
• Mentor the Income Recovery team, sharing your technical expertise in tenancy law and rent recovery.
• Drive and maintain high standards of customer service.
• Foster a culture of innovation and improvement within the organisation.
• Identify and implement opportunities for service improvements.

• Ensure that Selwood Housing remains a supportive and excellent community resource.

What we are looking for in you

• Expertise in housing and tenancy law and approaches to rent arrears recovery for all tenancy types
• Proven track record in controlling rent arrears and driving them down
• Expertise and demonstrable knowledge of financial inclusion issues and how this can influence rent arrears recovery.
• Proven ability for monitoring casework, organising, and prioritising where necessary.
• Ability to maximise use of information technology to pursue aims and make decisions efficiently and effectively.
• Ability to deal with demanding and challenging people in difficult/sensitive situations and with enquiries from customers about financial matters in a fair and consistent way.
