ABOUT THE ROLE

N.B. THIS IS A FIXED TERM CONTRACTS FOR A MINIMUM PERIOD OF 6 MONTHS.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our vibrant and supportive ELT Product Management team. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for project managing products from concept initiation to availability of stock in warehouse or launch of digital products, as allocated by SPM. This includes contributing to project brief and scope, high level planning and scheduling, and reporting on schedule, resources and budget, as well as management of progress, decisions, actions, risks and issues, in order to lead the team to ensure successful delivery of product. You will lead or contribute to the implementation of best practice in product & project management processes, and ensure project activities are consistent with the ELT Strategy and departmental objectives and key metrics.

The Key Accountabilities of this role will include:

  • Project manages and leads on implementation of plans for products: Establishes and maintain plans, schedules, budget, risks and issues on assigned portfolios and projects.
  • Reporting: reports on progress, risks, issues, budgets. on assigned portfolios and projects.
  • Communication: Facilitate effective communications between cross-functional teams.
  • Project Management Best Practice: Ensures consistency of project management tools and best practice across cross-functional groups by working with other project management colleagues internally and externally.

We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office.

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

  • In-depth knowledge of the publishing process for print and digital products.
  • Basic knowledge of Product Management discipline.
  • Knowledge of digital processes and ways of working
  • Experience of working in a matrix environment and facilitating communication in cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency with MS Project or other scheduling and tracking software
  • Proficiency with Excel or other spreadsheets software
  • Experience of managing projects and programmes, ideally including digital projects, to schedule and budget.
  • Proven track record of collaborating with multiple stakeholders in a matrix
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to speak and write English fluently
