Job overview

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, dynamic well organised and enthusiastic candidate to the role of AMD Coordinator within the Ophthalmology department to give a high level of patient service.

You will be supported to learn and develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours you need to perform in the job role.

Main duties of the job

The Role of the AMD Coordinator is to provide a comprehensive and effective administrative service to support the smooth and efficient running of the Age Related Macular Degeneration Service. This includes managing the clinics on the trust system, booking clinic appointments & Therapeutic appointments within a defined timescale, Secretarial duties, including the creation and sending of letters, line management of the AMD Referrals Coordinator and liaising with the clinical team to ensure a smooth and safe patient experience.

Supporting the Medical Retina team in managing the Therapeutics patients and liaising with the coordinators to ensure patients are booked and managed within a timely manner.
