Job Responsibility:
Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating individuals with speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in children. This role requires a strong understanding of anatomy and physiology as it relates to speech therapy, as well as the ability to create tailored treatment plans that meet the unique needs of each client.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders in children.
- Develop and implement individualised treatment plans tailored to each child's developmental needs.
- Provide direct therapy services, using engaging and interactive techniques to facilitate progress.
- Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting therapy plans as needed to optimize outcomes.
- Educate and support parents, caregivers, and teachers on strategies to enhance communication development.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including occupational therapists, physical therapists, and educators, to provide holistic care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, ensuring compliance with professional and regulatory standards.
- Stay informed on the latest research, techniques, and best practices in speech-language therapy
Skills
- Strong knowledge of anatomy related to speech production and physiology.
- Proficient in medical terminology relevant to speech therapy practices.
- Expertise in various speech therapy techniques and methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
- Empathy and patience when working with clients of diverse backgrounds and needs.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a related field.
- Licensure/Certification: Valid licensure and certification as required by regulatory bodies.
- Experience: Previous experience working with children in clinical, educational, or therapy settings is preferred.
- Strong understanding of childhood speech and language development, as well as various communication disorders.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Passion for helping children reach their full potential through evidence-based interventions.
