We are excited to be able offer a number of Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship positions across our Community Hospitals Service. If you are looking to start your career in healthcare and are passionate about providing excellent care for patients and our service users this position could be for you. You will be working closely with the clinical team to build your knowledge and skills in the healthcare profession. The service focuses on patients requiring rehabilitation following an acute episode of illness and provides treatment and intervention for patients with long term conditions including Stroke rehabilitation. Please note applicants who hold an existing Healthcare related degree will not be eligible for the Apprenticeship funding and will not be condsidered for the post. Additionally, please note if your are non-UK national to be eligible for the apprenticeship you will need to have been ordinarily resident in the UK and Islands for at least the previous 3 years on the first day of the apprenticeship and have permission from the UK government to live in the UK (not for education purposes) or have obtained pre-settled or settled status under EUSS. We are looking for enthusiastic and reliable individuals to work within and support a dedicated multi-disciplinary team. The successful candidates will be supported to complete the Healthcare Support Worker Level 2 or 3 Apprenticeships based on previous experience or qualifications. NHFT will also provide a high level of support and training, giving the opportunity to learn valuable new skills. The successful applicants will be given an 18 months fixed contract to work as an Apprentice Healthcare Support Worker. Or 2 years if you are undertaking a level 3 qualification. Upon successful completion of assigned apprenticeship individuals displaying NHFT's expected values and behaviours for healthcare professionals with be signposted to vacancies within the Trust. To promote progression and career opportunities to support our “Grow your Own” strategy further opportunities may be made available and build an individual career path onto the: Senior Healthcare Support Worker Level 3 Nursing Associate/Assistant Practitioner Level 5 Registered Nurse Degree level 6 Further Allied professions may also become available. NHFT is an integrated primary care and mental health Trust, providing physical, mental health and specialty services in both hospital settings and out in the community.
