Job Summary

Are you an experienced smoking cessation advisor looking for a new challenge to support pathways in secondary care?

This is a new role for Greenwich Quits Smoking - Via's Specialist Smoking Cessation Service for the London Borough of Greenwich. Our service is co-located in Charlton with other Via colleagues from our adult substance misuse service.

This role has been specifically created to support more pathways and clinics in secondary care. We are seeking an experienced smoking cessation advisor who is committed to improving people's physical health and wellbeing and strong partnership working to provide effective, evidence-based advice and support that will help them stop smoking.

The Role

The Specialist Smoking Cessation Advisor will:

  • Support the BRIC Coordinator in developing and implementing new clinics and satellites within secondary care settings to both patients and NHS staff.
  • Deliver secondary care clinics and satellites according to evidence-based (NICE, NCST) guidelines, including behavioural, pharmacological and ‘swap to stop' pathways.
  • Maintain positive working relationships and innovation with secondary care partners to ensure the clinics are promoted and managed effectively.
  • Contribute to the service meeting key performance indicators including quit dates, 4 week quits, and 12 week quits.
  • Complete record-keeping on Quit Manager and maintain other records as needed to evaluate outcomes from secondary care clinics.
  • Support other activities of the team that promote the service and the benefits of quitting smoking.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of expanding a service to deliver specialist advice and support and develop secondary care partnerships to improve the health and wellbeing of Greenwich residents.

This is a full-time position of 37.5 hours per week. Our usual hours are Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 17:00 with some occasional evening and weekend work as required on a rota within the team.

Location

The Greenwich Quits Smoking service is based in Charlton, but this role requires regular travel to secondary care locations across the borough of Greenwich.
