Job Responsibility:

We're looking for a Community Engagement Coordinator to join our Construction team, on an exciting project at HMP Channing's Wood Prison.

Location: Newton Abbot, South Devon

Contract: Permanent - Full Time

What will you be responsible for?

Within this key role as a Community Engagement Coordinator, no two days are the same, you will be responsible for the coordination of all community engagement activities and for our large site, based in South Devon.

Your day to day will include:

  • Being the main point of contact for feedback, be responsible for signposting, recording all enquiries and follow up responses.
  • Sending out quarterly newsletters.
  • Updating the microsite.
  • Maintaining the local contacts directory.
  • Developing relationships with local stakeholders.

Who are we looking for?

As a Community Engagement Coordinator, will have previous experience within a social value role and be fully conversant with MS Office packages. You will be required to have strong organisational skills with the ability to effectively communicate with both internal and external stakeholders.

In addition to the above, this role is great for you if you can:

  • Deliver sustainable employment opportunities and supporting prison leaver retraining.
  • Plan and deliver educational sessions in local schools and colleges.
  • Build relationships with the local community, charities, and other relevant organisations to identify and deliver community projects.
  • Work closely with Kier and the supply chain to influence suitable training to achieve social value targets for apprentices, trainees and workers on site.
  • Create case studies/best practice to the wider team and create end of project social value case study.
