The Role

The CUK Regional Doctor, Health Operations Centre (HOC) supports the Corporate 24/7 global Health Operations Centre (HOC). The regional HOC Doctor provides high level, complex, critical decision making and operational support to the Carnival Corporation's fleets sailing within their geographic catchment area. They will support the shipboard Senior Doctors with medevacs, communicable disease response, mass casualty incidents and other significant events and report events in a timely manner to the Medical Director, regional stakeholders and global HOC leadership. They will work closely with Carnival UK Health Services including sharing expertise and insight and providing SME support to specific workstreams and Emergency Responses.

You will:

  • Provide regional support and guidance to shipboard medical teams for significant and complex medical events, medical evacuations, illnesses of public health concern, and assist in the coordination of a medical response plan, if required.
  • Identify and maintain a database of port specific regional shoreside medical facilities, laboratories, evacuation options and capabilities for regional itineraries.
  • Provide medical operational support and working with relevant shoreside Health Service SMEs provide the vessels with the support and guidance to deliver their areas of accountability Communicate, and collaborate with the Fleet Operation Centre, Medical Director shipboard and shoreside leadership teams, and third parties as necessary, to provide situational awareness and ensure proper handling of medevacs or significant medical and Public Health events.
  • Coordinate and manage the regional HOC resource to provide effective coverage and operational support.

Our role categories range from CUK15 (entry level) to CUK1 (Brand President) so you can clearly see internal development opportunities. This role is a CUK06 and is offered on a full time, permanent basis, with 3 days per week hybrid working in our Southampton office.

About You

Fresh ideas and different perspectives are what excite us most and help us to succeed. Alongside bringing these to the role, you'll also need:

  • Hold a license to practice from the General Medical Council (GMC).
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Medicine.
  • At the time of appointment, have been a medical practitioner with extensive experience and for this purpose 'medical practitioner' means a person who is fully registered under The Medical Profession (Responsible Officers) (Amendment) Regulations 2013
  • Extensive experience as a licensed doctor preferably in emergency medicine.
  • Significant experience managing other Health Care providers.
