Job Responsibility:

The Harrods Store Development team is looking for a Construction Project Manager who will drive the expansion and development of the world's number one luxury store. Our Store Development team is responsible for creating some of the most magical spaces, such as developing a superior shopping space for our VVIC customers and curating beautiful spaces for world-renowned Chefs in the Harrods Dining Hall.

About the Role

2024 and beyond will see us developing unimaginably exciting spaces, and you will be responsible for the successful delivery of project briefs as well as liaising with the best designers, architectural experts and concession partners. With a keen eye for high-end aesthetics, design and detail yourself, you will be used to planning projects for public use. As well as partnering M&E experts, you will project manage multiple contractors and consultants to ensure you reach key delivery milestones.

As the Project Manager, you will manage programme & commercial delivery, including Harrods capital, supplier and combined funded projects Stakeholders will vary from senior internal stakeholders (up to Exec level) to design leads from luxury brands; from owners of small restaurant brands through to Michelin-starred chefs.

Our grade II listed building is home of 'Anything is Possible' and the capital projects pipeline of work is testament to this. This team is highly respected for being the best in the business, and you can rely on them for support and guidance to support you in understanding and reinforcing the Harrods approval procedures alongside statutory requirements.

You will be line managed by the Senior Project Manager; at times however you may also support the Director of Store Development directly. Harrods is a 'hands on' environment, where you will be expected to take pride and ownership of your work, working effectively to close out actions by collaborating and working as a team.

About You

You will have a degree (or equivalent work experience) in a construction-related discipline, such as construction project management, building surveying, quantity surveying or architecture. You will be a meticulous planner, able to effectively manage your own time and the time of others. You will have demonstrable experience as a project manager, able to talk through these specific skills.

You'll also have:

  • Experience within restaurants, luxury hotels, mixed use, public space other commercial environments
  • Strong H&S/CDM knowledge
  • Good knowledge of statutory protocols and procedures
  • Knowledge of how to design and build a kitchen and public spaces to extremely high quality
  • A uniquely keen eye for detail - you don't let anything go unnoticed
  • Practical experience on site with the ability to guide and drive teams of technical experts
  • Very strong communication and collaboration skills, as well as great stakeholder management
  • Self-starter with a strong initiative to lead internal and external stakeholders
  • Ambition to support and understand the core business of retail
