Role Overview

You will provide and maintain efficient administrative services for the Basinghall Radiology Department, ensuring a high quality service is delivered to patients, staff and Consultants, with particular secretarial support for all Radiology reports. You'll be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team - showing flexibility of shared tasks to ensure that we provide the best quality service in a pleasant environment for both staff and patients.

You'll help us make health happen by:

  • Having administrative rights to SECTRA system in order to proof, edit and print all completed reports from RIS/PACS system, making sure all exams that have been arrived match the reports. Read context of report to ensure the correct exam was carried out and flag out any discrepancies before completing the task in RIS.
  • Having a good knowledge of the Radiology booking system (RIS) in order to assist the admin team with the scheduling of examinations and front desk duties when required ie. staff on annual leave, sickness .
  • Ensuring that all addendums appear correctly on the PACS/RIS system ,ensuring that they are signed by the radiologist before the end of their reporting session.
  • Setting up the daily RIS lists for Basinghall Clinic and ensuring these align with the relevant patient booking system of the clinic, for exle BOSS/Meddbase.
  • Ensuring the Ultrasound Service administration is managed effectively, working closely with clinicians within the centre.
  • Monitoring the departmental email inbox queries, addressing them to the right area of the department.
  • Take information from patients in a polite and professional manner, updating patient/doctors details at each appointment and inputting all information correctly onto the computer systems according to clinic procedure.
  • Receive and act upon telephone enquiries to the Radiology service, ensuring appropriate telephone etiquette and world class standards of professionalism is maintained at all times.
  • Build positive relationships with Consultants and referring clinicians to the Radiology service.

Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:

  • Direct facing Patient/Client interaction
  • Administration experience within a healthcare environment
  • Some radiology experience or knowledge is desirable

  • Proven experience of delivering customer services to an exceptionally high standard
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • IT literate - Microsoft office proficient
  • Excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
