Freelance IQA for Beauty.

Job Purpose:

Our organisation's number one priority is our learners, employers and other stakeholders' happiness. You will be one of the key members of the Quality Assurance team and will be working directly with the Head of Centre.

The role and support from the IQA are of paramount importance to the overall success, achievement and positive outcomes for our learners and apprentices. You will provide support and assessment guidance to Trainers/Teachers, Tutors and Assessors and ensure they are making assessment judgements in compliance with relevant specifications and awarding bodies quality assurance processes.

Main Duties

  • Undertake internal verification for identified qualifications offered by the school
  • Conduct formal assessments against prescribed competencies published by the awarding bodies, for an assigned caseload of tutors/centres.
  • Undertake development and mentoring activities for training and assessment of staff delivering various qualifications.
  • Support and train new assessors to be able to assess with accuracy and confidence to get portfolios right the first time.
  • To support the quality team to achieve and maintain direct claims status from awarding bodies.
  • Drive unit completion to support timely completions (track and monitor via IQA process)
  • Work with the Senior Leadership Team to fully implement all linked processes and ensure the drive to the outstanding provision is evident in all centres.
  • Tracking of learner outcomes/tutor submissions
  • Conduct a range of progress and support initiatives within centres linked to the learner journey, ensuring specific measurable targets are set and tracked to completion.
  • Plan and conduct staff training sessions as appropriate.
  • Conduct audit checks of assessment processes at all identified sites.
  • Ensure compliance to assessment and verification procedures.
  • Ensure general administrative requirements are met within appropriate deadlines.
  • Assist with other quality functions such as curriculum review and development, quality improvement visits, driving improvements with the quality of teaching, learning and assessment, learner reviews and work experience.
  • Conduct the ‘self-assessment' process with regard to the quality of learning and liaise with other members of the management team on the production of the annual SIP.
  • Represent the Company in promotional activities i.e., external events out of normal office hours as required.
  • Attend various network groups and ad hoc meetings.
  • To comply with and actively promote In Toto Ed's Equal Opportunities and Safeguarding Policies.
  • Work in conjunction with Director of Learning and Development to organise regular assessor meetings and standardisation meetings.
  • Obtain feedback from learners and employers, analyse and make any appropriate improvements
  • To undertake any other relevant duties as specified by your line manager, commensurate with the level of this post.

Essential Requirements

  • Relevant occupational experience and competence in work preparation.
  • Must hold a minimum of L2 in Beauty.
  • Experience of assessing qualifications.
  • To hold a level 4 TAQA or V1 Qualification
  • Demonstrate effective planning/organisational skills

Desirable Skills

  • Experience delivering staff training
  • 12 months carrying out Internal Verification role
  • Experience with Awarding bodies & hosting external visits
  • Experience in carrying out observations for internal processes
  • Experience in monitoring & measuring impact curriculum against the OFSTED Framework.
  • Competent ICT user
