## Job SummarySet within the Coombe Wood Estate, Coombe Wood Golf Club was established in 1904. The Par-66, 5285 yard parkland Golf Course has an opportunity for a suitably qualified or unqualified candidate to fill the roll of Assistant Greenkeeper. Working within an established team to help present and maintain the golf course and its surrounds, to a high standard. The club is looking to hire someone who wishes to progress their career.

The club currently have plans to further invest in new machinery, irrigation projects, and Greenkeeping facilities. Having over the last two years successfully invested in drainage and irrigation projects. The successful candidate will be joining our team of greenkeepers at an exciting time.

The applicant will be part of a team that is responsible for upkeep of the golf course and to perform related tasks associated with the management of all turf. Ideally the applicant needs to be qualified or working towards gaining a level 2 qualification in sports turf management. The candidate needs to be able to demonstrate a good work ethic and be able to communicate effectively within a strong team environment.

## ResponsibilitiesTo actively participate in the numerous tasks required in the maintenance of the golf course and carry out these competently and in a timely fashion. The main tasks involved will include being able to mow all surfaces, hole-changing, divoting, bunker raking, aerating, top dressing, fertilizing, hand watering and operate hand held tools.

To understand and follow the agreed maintenance plan, and assist and actively participate in the execution of a comprehensive schedule of work to the standard required.

## Essential Qualifications

– Experience as a greenkeeper and be Level 2 Qualified or working towards obtaining– Experience & knowledge for operating machinery

## None Essential Qualifications

– PA1, PA2 & PA6 Spraying Certificates

– Chainsaw Licence

-The ability to use and maintain the operation of an irrigation system.

The successful applicant will be required to work 40hrs a week and one in three weekends and 2 bank holidays a year. This time will be paid or time of in lieu, depending on the time of year. The working hours are 6am – 2pm in the summer and 6:30 – 2:30 in the winter.

Coombe Wood will provide the successful applicant with the necessary PPE, and uniform with which to carry out their role.

The job comes with 20 days holiday along with the statutory 8 bank holidays.

Pay: £25,500.00-£28,000.00 per year
