Job Responsibility:

Prepworld is looking for a Skilled Hygiene Support Operative to assist the Hygiene Teams to disassemble and reassemble conveyor belt systems for cleaning to ensure compliance to FMCG food safety standards, and to support the Engineering Teams as required.

Main Duties:

  • Be the engineering Team member responsible for the removal and replacement of conveyor belts, guards and production equipment as required to support Hygiene cleaning tasks
  • Assist engineers and multi-skilled engineers in low skill level maintenance tasks.
  • Supporting nightshift hygiene team to develop their skills in all dismantling and rebuilding of equipment.
  • As part of a Team, assist in root cause analysis workshops
  • Maintain good maintenance record keeping as required
  • Assist the maintenance planner and engineering shift manager to maintain engineering stores stock levels
  • Attend training courses (internal and external) as required by Prepworld to build personal and Engineering Department capabilities
  • Assist in basic Operator Driven Reliability training and mentoring of production operators as required
  • Maintain and promote good health and safety practices as a core principle of engineering activity on site
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices within the Engineering Department and site wide as required
  • The role involves manual handling and the ability to withstand working in cold storage conditions on a daily basis

Who we are looking for:

Essential:

  • Suitably trained in basic mechanical maintenance best practices
  • Suitably trained and competent to employ safe working and electrical isolation best practices (lock out tag out)
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Excel and Word data input
  • Ability to carry out low level problem solving
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Can do attitude - See It, Own It, Solve It, Do It

Desirable:

  • HACCP Experience and/or formal training
  • Food Industry or FMCG experience
  • High Care working experience

Days of work: 4 on, 4 off (rotating) Hours of work: 18:00pm - 06:00am Salary: Up to £32,000 per annum
