Scale 3 £24,294 to £26,421 per annum (pro rata) Part-time Permanent - 22 hours per week An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Benefits team as a Benefits Officer. Reporting to the Council Tax and Benefits Team Leader, this role will be demanding yet rewarding and no two days will be the same. We are looking for an individual who is looking for an exciting challenge and will join the team as we head into a new year of dynamic change. Working within our busy Benefits department, you will be processing and maintaining Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support Claims whilst providing exceptional customer service by offering advice to customers on the telephone and face to face when required. The successful candidate will be highly organised with the ability to pay attention to detail. You will have proven administrative experience and will have previously worked in a customer facing environment. You will also be competent in being able to prioritise and work on your own initiative. Previous knowledge of the benefits system would be desirable but full training will be provided to the right candidate. You will be expected to work in the office 3 days a week during initial training, however thereafter we are currently hybrid working, and there is a requirement to work from the office on a rota basis of approximately 2 days a week. This role will require a basic Disclosure and Barring Service check (known as a DBS check). All offers of employment will be made conditional upon receipt of the satisfactory DBS check.
