Job Responsibility:
Salary £23,000 per annum + Car Allowance Full time, 37 hours a week, Fixed term Contract until end of March 2025 Field-based covering the entire Anglian Water Region. Based location can be agreed upon appointment. For a greater career just add water! Water Recycling is at the heart of our operations. The key services that we are responsible for are delivered by our in-house, highly skilled workforce. We collect and treat the water that customers have used, returning it to the environment via rivers and coastal outlets. Our network includes 76,000 kilometres of sewers which feed over 1,000 water recycling centres. Would you like to be part of a team who are responsible for the safe and sustainable operation and maintenance of our water recycling assets? What will you be doing? Covering the Anglian Water region and reporting directly to the Flow Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for delivering wastewater process science and flow support and advising Water Recycling Services on how to maintain compliance and ensure treatment efficiency. This will involve providing reactive and proactive performance improvements, implementing strategies to exploit the full potential of our infrastructure as well as reducing operational expenditure where possible. You will also be involved in data evaluation and compliance reporting, developing and implementing sampling programmes, as well as spending time coaching and developing our operations teams in their knowledge of treatment processes. Duties will include:
- Design and implement strategies to correct adverse performance trends to maintain compliance
- Support Operational Managers in handling enquiries
- Measure performance and interpret data and provide regular reports on compliance and performance
- Provide proactive service to identify adverse trends
- Provide scientific data for consent applications process
- Interpret impact of new consents on existing processes
- Interpret and communicate policy and regulatory changes, helping to manage impacts to the local operations area
What does it take to be successful?
- Educated to degree level in a relevant scientific subject
- Ideally have or be working towards a relevant postgraduate qualification such as CIWEM
- Ideally a member of professional body
- Relevant wastewater experience
- Demonstrable expertise in wastewater collection and treatment and sludge treatment
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent data evaluation skills
- Good IT skills
- Full Clean Driving Licence
