Job Responsibility:
Aberdeen - Business Development Manager
New Business / Sales Responsibilities
- Source and convert business leads into trading accounts independently.
- Track leads and document interactions with prospects using relevant software, including our CRM Database.
- Engage with potential clients, using active listening to make tailored business recommendations.
- Prepare and present business documents, such as proposals and presentations.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Apply commercial reasoning during client negotiations to balance client value with account profitability.
- Attend monthly product presentations and relevant meetings as required.
General Responsibilities
- Travel domestically or internationally for client activities as needed or requested by the Head of Business Development.
- Analyse and report market trends and competitor behaviour.
- Act as a liaison between the Company and Clients during meetings.
- Attend monthly product presentations, Finance & Administration, and Client Services meetings as required.
- Ensure all activities align with the Company's Code of Business Conduct.
- Provide ad hoc reports to the Head of Business Development when requested.
Additional Requirements
- Excellent command of the English language.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Team player with a positive attitude towards internal and external dynamics.
- Deadline-driven and proactive.
- Strong presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills with commercial awareness.
- Attend meetings, functions, and events, including some after-hours and weekend activities.
- National and international travel may be necessary.
Other
- You must be based near Aberdeen. Working arrangements are flexible but preference is 1 to 2 days per week in the office (Aberdeen city centre).
- You need to have, minimum, 2-3 years' BDM experience - please note this is not an entry level position.
