Location: Ideally based in our Edinburgh office with 2 or 3 days spent working at home. We will also consider applications based from our Telford or Wythall offices.

Salary and benefits: £75,000- 90,000 plus 30-60% annual bonus potential, private medical cover, 38 days annual leave, 10% non contributory pension, 12x salary life assurance, career breaks, income protection, 3x volunteering days and much more.

We have an incredible opportunity to work within our new Commercial Partnerships structure as a Senior Manager, Risk.

The role

The role holder is responsible for overseeing and managing risks associated with the procurement and supplier management processes across Commercial Partnerships.

Setting Direction: Act as lead for setting the direction for the function's risk strategies with the regulatory risk team.

Adherence to the Group's Risk Management Framework and Mission: Ensure the function complies with the framework and promote informed decision making and controlled risk taking.

Risk and Control Framework: Guides the team on what is required to comply with the framework and tracks all actions to completion.

Risk Assessment : Assessing and identifying potential risks across all procurement activities, including supplier risks, contract risks, and market risks.

Risk Strategy: Developing and implementing risk management strategies and policies to mitigate identified risks.

Integration: Collaborating with procurement teams to integrate risk management processes into procurement practices.

Supplier Due Diligence: Acting as the lead for conducting all risk assessments and due diligence on potential and existing suppliers.

Risk Monitoring : Continuously monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of risk management measures and adjusting strategies, as necessary. Providing guidance and training to procurement staff on risk management best practices.

Strategic thinking and excellent communication abilities are crucial for success.

Deep knowledge of the Financial Services Regulated environment.

Deep understanding of procurement best practices, legal and regulatory requirements, and risk management.

Experience of working with procurement tools and systems.

Collaboration: Liaising with other functions, such as group risk, legal and compliance, to ensure alignment with overall risk management initiatives. Leading or participating in cross-functional teams focused on improving risk management processes and outcomes within the organisation.

Horizon Scanning - Best Practice Identification and Implementation : Keeping abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes to proactively address emerging risks.

Reporting: Reporting on procurement risk exposure and mitigation efforts to senior management and stakeholders.
