Purpose of the Role
This exciting new hybrid opportunity has arisen to join our Finance team reporting to Head of External Reporting & Financial Control. You will manage the statutory and regulatory team in an FCA regulated environment.
This role will require 2 or 3 days per week in our Leeds or Harrogate office.
What you will do
This is an overview and not an exhaustive list of responsibilities. Collaborating with your Line Manager, you will develop your own objectives but focus on all of the following and more:
- Be responsible for the co-ordination of year-end process of the annual financial statements for the Ardonagh Advisory platform.
- Ensure annual financial statements are in compliance with IFRS and legal requirements.
- Manage the relationship with external auditors and tax advisers.
- Deliver regulatory, tax and other external reporting deliverables.
- Be involved in legal entity life cycle activities during the corporate expansion plans.
- Provide technical accounting, regulatory reporting and tax insight including horizon scanning.
- Implement and embed a high quality risk and control framework.
- Take responsibility for the provision of appropriate information to external audit in efficient timescales to ensure year-end timetables are met.
- Work closely with the Financial Control team to ensure complete and accurate ledger based financial information is received in order to meet external reporting requirements.
- Deputise for Group Financial Controller for External Reporting related activities.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for someone who has/is:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA)
- Extensive experience working in an external reporting role, producing/reviewing financial statements and managing teams.
- Strong working knowledge of chart of accounts, accounting ledgers, reporting systems, IFRS accounting standards and statutory financial statements requirements.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills, including Excel.
- Ideally experience within an insurance intermediary with an understanding of regulatory reporting for such entities but not essential.

You will need to focus on planning and working to tight deadlines, manage competing priorities, be able to challenge current processes and identify and deliver improvements. You will be adaptable, able to embrace and respond to changes positively.
