An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Professor within the Academic Unit, Mental Health and Clinical Neurosciences. The role spans academic and research components of the programme and makes a significant contribution to the DClinPsy programme and wider School of Medicine.
You will contribute to the planning, design and development of a high-quality integrated programme of clinical psychology training across two universities and three NHS Trusts. Specific responsibilities will include convening an academic taught model, offering individual and group personal tutor support to trainees, supervising research, delivering teaching and assessing work. You will be given time within the role to complete a higher education teaching qualification and develop skills in designing and delivering an engaging curriculum. You will be closely supported to develop a clinical psychology speciality area within the DClinPsy programme.
You must have the ability to build relationships and collaborate with others, both internally and externally. You must have excellent skills in communication and pastoral care to engage and motivate students. Doctoral level knowledge of clinical and professional guidance, as well as of clinically relevant research design and methodology is essential. You must have post-qualification experience as a clinical psychologist and experience of teaching clinical psychology topics.

The post will be offered on a part-time (14.5 hours per week), fixed-term contract, available for two years from the start date.
