Job Responsibility:
We are looking for an enthusiastic clinician for this post of Trust Associate Specialist, working up to 6 PA's, who will support the Head and Neck oncology and cleft service as well as contribute to general restorative diagnostic clinics. The post holder will be expected to undertake new patient activity and treatment to support departmental patient activity targets. They will be expected to provide cover as and when necessary and deliver clinical dental education to trainees. The post holder will interact with members of the dental, maxillofacial teams, head and neck team and outpatient staff, and also with ward staff associated with the care of patients. The Restorative Service provides treatment and consultation to Head & Neck patients as well as other clearly defined special needs with complex restorative problems. The successful post holder will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality service delivery in outpatients, including the performance of procedures under local anesthetics. They will be able to work independently supporting new patient clinics, HANC MDT and treatment clinics. The post holder will be required to comply with all Trust Policies notably in relation to job planning, appraisal and leave taking in line with Departmental and Trust objectives. E.g. flexible working and annualised job plans. They will also be expected to participate in the normal duties relating to the administration of the Restorative Department. These duties will include teaching, continuing medical education, governance, and audit. Assistance with rota preparation may also be required. The candidate is expected to adhere to the principles of evidence-based practice and adhere to agreed national and local guidelines, protocols and pathways developed in the specialty.
