We have an exciting opportunity to join our People Services team until December 2025. This is a varied role which will provide you with broad HR administrative experience in a large complex organisation.
Supporting our team of People Services Coordinators, you will support a variety of HR administrative tasks ranging from recruitment through to appointment, assisting in the preparation of contracts, inputting onto HR systems and dealing with general HR queries.
The People Services Assistant will be a key team member helping us deliver a professional, comprehensive, efficient, and well-regarded HR service.
As a People Services Assistant you can expect to be involved in:
- Provide administrative support to the recruitment and on boarding processes.
- Personally deal with straightforward HR enquiries, applying confidentiality, tact and discretion where necessary.
- Develop and build knowledge of all University conditions of service, contractual entitlements, and processes, in order to support staff members and managers with routine queries.
- Update and maintain the HR and Payroll system (ResourceLink). Process staff changes, resignations and terminations in line with HR policy.
What will you bring to the role?
- Educated to A-level or equivalent
- GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths at Grade C or above, or equivalent qualification
- Experience in an office environment
- Have an interest in a career in Human Resources
- Good IT skills with the ability to use MS Office applications; particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook
