The role As a Security Advisor, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. This high-profile role offers outstanding career progression, with opportunities to collaborate across all levels, including senior leadership, within a large, stable organisation driving impactful and long-term projects.
Day-to-day, you'll provide security administrative support to the Security Controller and wider security team with the everyday aspects of security as part of a major national defence programme.
- Support security team operations by handling security vetting clearance processes and broader administrative tasks.
- Act as a key contact, addressing enquiries and submissions professionally and promptly.
- Perform routine administrative tasks with skills developed through training or experience under moderate supervision.
- Develop and maintain accurate systems and electronic filing, ensuring data integrity via regular audits.
- Keep team platforms (e.g., SharePoint/GMS) updated with accurate and current information.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.
Essential experience of the Security Advisor
- Proficient in MS Office, managing team mailboxes, and conducting data analysis.
- Experienced with UK security vetting, the vetting process, government security classifications, IT systems, and electronic information transfer.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent verbal communication skills.
- Flexible, adaptable, and a collaborative team player.
- Skilled in time management, workload organisation, and delivering exceptional customer service.
Qualifications for the Security Advisor
- English GCSE (C or equivalent and above)
- A Business Management qualification - Desirable.
Security Clearance The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
