We are looking for a Student Absence and Lateness Administrator. This is an exciting opportunity to join Orchard Park High School and become an integral member of the Administration team. Orchard Park High School is a warm, happy and high achieving secondary school, located in Shirley, Croydon. Under the guidance of the Senior Leadership team, you will provide administrative support in all issues relating to monitoring and raising student attendance and punctuality as well as undertaking administrative and reception duties to support the wider school, students and parents. Orchard Park High School is a part of the Greenshaw Learning Trust. A highly successful multi academy trust that provides excellent quality, comprehensive, non-selective and inclusive education through primary schools and secondary schools.   • To be responsible for the timely and robust administration of student absence and punctuality
  • To assist with administrative tasks and office routines
  • To administer first aid to staff and students as appropriate
  • To cover reception as required.
Key Duties
  • Processes pupil attendance messages
  • Process and support students arriving late to school
  • Follow up absences from Period 0 and 1
  • Send unexplained absence texts and emails to all unreported absences
  • Report absences to staff
  • Print off registers for fire evacuation
  • Follow up on all incomplete registers
  • Complete first day calls to the parents of all absent pupils and code accordingly
  • Complete two-way calls to engage families in conversation about attendance
  • Challenge incorrect teacher marks and log on the tracker
  • Send nudge communications home to families on our watch list
  • Monitor attendance and punctuality data daily and over time and triage with the pastoral support manager
  • Action letters to families
  • Arrange and conduct punctuality concern meetings
  • Arrange and conduct early stage attendance meetings
  • Ensure all medical evidence is up to date and correctly filed
  • Manage the administration of absence requests
  • Report attendance data to relevant parties (welfare call, etc)
  • Send and request attendance certificates for alternative provisions
  • Prepare weekly roll call register.
You will need:
  • Good IT / numeracy / literacy skills / GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English
  • Ability to prioritise and manage workflow whilst maintaining a flexible approach to respond to urgent requests in a fast paced environment.
