An opportunity has arisen to work within RMBC Street Scene, employed as a Grounds Maintenance Operative based at Oaks Lane Depot, Kimberworth, Rotherham. Applicants must have a valid Driving Licence. You will need to have relevant knowledge and experience of carrying out commercial ground’s maintenance work and utilising relevant plant and equipment. Your main responsibilities will include grass cutting, annual pruning of shrub borders and hedge cutting. Other duties include weed grubbing and hand gritting. You will also be involved with carrying out environmental cleansing works, emptying street litter and dog bins, litter picking and removal of drug litter. The successful applicant will have some experience of completing worksheets for recording and dating completed work and carrying out daily machinery checks, have a good understanding of Health and Safety and environmental issues related to the position applied for. The successful applicant will be required give general assistance to members of the public on relevant grounds maintenance and street cleansing issues when required. You must be flexible, committed and have a willingness to undertake mandatory training specific to Rotherham Council Employees and the Job role.
